Snapshot Band is the band started by Drogon in 2021 with his friend Mikey. With 19 songs and 3 covers over 6 singles, an EP, and an album, Snapshot Band has produced a relatively large amount of content in the time it was actively creating. In 2021, there were 2 singles. In 2022 there were 3 singles, 1 cover, and an EP, consisting of 4 original songs and 2 covers. In 2023 there was a single, and an album, consisting of 9 original songs. With inconsistent music production, it eventually seemed to go into a state of stasis in early 2024, and has not been returned to since.
Members:
Ryz Drogon: Ryz Drogon is the main creative force behind Snapshot Band, writing, singing and being present in every single Snapshot Band song. While instruments being done by the other members, Drogon has made some songs completely on his own. Including Do You Even Remember, Faker, Candy Coated Contentness, Wasting, Lonely Two.
Mikey: Mikey started the band with Drogon, and is present in the vast majority of songs, eventually he felt as if the band was not the place for him, and unfortunately quit.
Henry: Henry joined for certain songs, namely You Can't Stay Forever and Traintracks. He was supposed to be present for even longer, but plans eventually fell through and the band went into stasis.
I don't want to leave your side is the first song make by Snapshot Band. Uploaded on the 26th of September 2021. This song is written from the perspective of a couple that have been together for years.
Love, Hate and Despair is the second song made by Snapshot Band. It is written from the perspective of someone who has gone through a breakup, and is finally starting to move past it.
Not Enough words is the third song by Snapshot Band. This focusing on the direct feeling of despair and regret directly after a relationship fails. The feeling of having not said enough, not made your feelings clear enough, and the hope that that would've changed something, saved the relationship.
This is a fun guitar cover of Bo Burnham's sad, one of Drogon's favourite artists. The video was made by GlitchedMastery.
You for Two is an EP made by Snapshot Band consisting of 4 original songs and 2 covers. The covers are Wonderwall and Hold back the river. The original songs are You Can't Stay Forever. Candy Coated Contentness, Lonely Two and Wasting.
You Can't Stay Forever is about the desire to stay in a moment of time, cherishing time with loved ones forever, despite knowing it must come to an end.
Candy Coated Contentness is about feeling as if you don't deserve when things are going well in your life, a theme of imposter syndrome is present.
Lonely Two is about wanting not to be lonely, even wanting to be lonely with another person rather than truly alone.
Wasting is about life and time wasting away, and a sense of regret over what you never said.
Prime of our life is a single produced by Snapshot Band in summer 2022. It is a comedy centred critique of people who assume that the prime of your life is your teenage years. In order to do this it lists a whole long list of social and political issues plaguing the world at the time of the song being made (including a criticism of the state of Israel's treatment of Palestine long before October 7th) as well as many humourous fake problems. All this to state that if life never gets any better than this, that it might just be a bit shit.
Next week probably is a single produced alongside Prime of our life. It is another comedy song, criticising procrastination, an issue Drogon regularly suffers from. The song portrays the promise of doing lots of great things, but ultimately doing nothing in the end.
Furnace of my own Doom is the album made by Snapshot Band in summer 2023. There are 9 songs on this album.
Heatstroke Better Than Heartbreak is about someone who is mentally ill after a breakup, possibly self harming, and how they'd rather die from Heatstroke than have to continue living through this experience.
Do You Even Remember is about a person reflecting on if their relationship was as memorable to their ex as it was to them. That they can't forget it, and they wonder if their ex already has.
I Don't Wanna Be Awake Anymore is about the difficult situation where your life is going so terribly you want to escape it, but when you sleep you make dreams that are even worse, trapping you in a horrible Catch-22.
Faker is about this feeling of imposter syndrome and pretending to be someone you're not, so that any criticism and dislike aimed at you doesn't hurt as much.
Club For The Spiritually Unenlightened is about people who suppose that they've figured life out, yet will likely make the same mistakes again. A cycle of supposed enlightenment (that doesn't really stick). This song is a duet.
Hello It Is Me is about apologising for mistake made. It is structured as almost a letter or text, that makes you think it is aimed at an ex. However by the end it is revealed to be to their past self.
I Don't Know You Anymore is about realising you've truly gotten over an ex. This is a direct follow up to Do You Even Remember. In this song the main narrator realises they don't remember everything about their ex anymore, but they hope that they're happy.
Compulsively Melodramatic is a self criticism of Snapshot Band's entire discography. An admittance that there has been an over-emphasis on heartbreak and depression. This song infact references every previous song at some point in it.
The Summer After GCSE'S is a comedic finisher to the album, reflecting on how Drogon has spent his summer.
Traintracks is the last single made by Snapshot Band. It is about self-destructive behaviour, as the narrator observes someone who keeps pushing themselves further into this. There is a strong sense of hope that there is an escape from this path.
